¿Es posible pasar el Super Mario Word sin perder a Yoshi Azul?
Is it possible to beat Super Mario World without losing Blue Yoshi?
For this challenge, I’ll keep a save state at the start of every level. The goal is to see if it’s possible, so if I die, I just reset instead of going for another Yoshi.
Yoshi can’t enter castles or ghost houses, so those will be skipped.
We start with Yoshi’s Island 1. I jump, dodge enemies, avoid plants, and finally grab a shell. From here it’s all about flying straight to the end. I actually flew so high that I went above the goal bar’s hitbox. To make things harder, I won’t activate the special blocks.
Now, Yoshi’s Island 2. Right at the start there’s an empty shell. Yoshi grabs it, and we go flying.
On the way down I don’t waste time with the moles. I hit the switch and cross the level.
On Yoshi’s Island 3, I know the block layout. I eat the first Koopa, start flying, but forget I have no cape and die. Reset.
This time, I eat the first turtle, spit the shell, grab another, and repeat. One Koopa escapes, so I finish the level normally.
Yoshi’s Island 4. No Koopas at first, so I play it normal until the tunnel. I didn’t fly high enough, dropped Yoshi, recovered him, but lost the shell. Worse, I lost Yoshi again trying to grab another Koopa. Reset.
Second try, I fly higher, eat a Koopa, make it past the tunnel, and finish.
In Donut Plains, I grab the cape and take off. At least that was the plan. Next attempt, I manage a big flight.
I could drop Yoshi to grab the key, but that would defeat the point of the run.
Donut Plains 2 is about taking every route I can. I use the secret tunnel and fly with the cape to reach the key.
The Donut Ghost House doesn’t allow Yoshi, so I just grab the secrets.
In Donut Plains 3, I find a blue Koopa to fly. I take off, but my momentum runs out. Luckily I land safely.
I try again, fail again, and finally just take a shortcut to finish.
Donut Plains 4. First try, Yoshi swallows a shell, I carefully dodge the Goombas, then turn back, use the momentum, and fly to the goal.
In Morton’s Castle, Yoshi can’t join.
To keep the run going, I take the ghost house path. From there, I eat another Koopa, take off, and once again fly so high I skip the goal bar.
Back on track, I beat the castle normally. Keep eating Koopas, grab one at the right time, and unlock the path.
In Vanilla Secret, I grab a shell, fly straight to the secret exit, and unlock the star road.
For the normal exit, I just keep eating Koopas, clearing enemies, and succeed.
Vanilla Secret 2. I take a shell, start flying, but Yoshi swallows it because of the bombs. Luckily I land, grab more Koopas, and finish. Once again, I fly so high I pass the goal bar.
Vanilla Secret 3. I only need to hop across dolphins.
The Reznor castle doesn’t allow Yoshi.
I’m drifting too far off the main path, so I repeat the strategy: grab a Koopa, fly, reach the pipe, grab the star, and move on.
Next Koopa, another flight, but this time I don’t overshoot the finish.
And here’s the level that killed the challenge. It seemed normal at first—just eating everything. But then comes the fish section. I realize the only way forward is climbing a vine. No Koopas, no space to take off. I’m forced to drop Yoshi.
And that’s where this video ends.
But, if this video does well, I could try finishing the rest of the game with Blue Yoshi, with other Yoshis, or maybe something similar.
