On stage, Tooru and Urie find a secret passageway that led to the basement of the theater. They also meet Juuzou, and they realized that he had sneaked in. In the Washuu property, Urie attends a dinner hosted by Matsuri Washuu. He points out that the food has a peculiar flavor, but not He says nothing to avoid offending Matsuri. After dinner, he is introduced to Matsuri's wife, Iyo Washuu, whom he politely considers. Their exchange is brief as Matsuri claims that he needs to speak to Urie, so Iyo leaves. Staying with a good impression of his wife, Urie tries to complement her until Matsuri suddenly declares her "boring", confusing him. Washuu explains her unwanted relationship with Iyo and her feelings of envy that stem from being part of a prestigious family that prevents her from living as she wants. He suddenly asks Urie when she will get married, surprising him. Urie says it is something he will consider, but internally he is not sure. Matsuri talks about relationships in the GCC and how researchers normally do either of two things: start a family as soon as possible or remain fervently single. Urie tells him that he is currently single and that his work has priority, which Matsuri finds habitual for him. Ayato Kirishima asks Miza Kusakari if she has seen Karao Saeki. They discuss the next assembly, but no one knows what it is about. Miza then asks about Cochlea, but Ayato must report that he can't even get information about the guard duty there. Before the assembly begins, Eto recalls his fight against Iwao Kuroiwa thirteen years ago. In her assembly speech, Eto announces to members of the Aogiri Tree that she is the One-Eyed Owl and that she is also known as the author Sen Takatsuki. Eto is currently under arrest for confessing to a ghoul and Shiono is released. On Ru Island he attacks Hachikawa Squad and Shikorae appears behind the squad leader. Shikorae plucks Hachikawa's nose, and Hachikawa tries to stop the ghouls, but their leader is killed. Ayumu escapes with Tooru. Ayumu and Tooru start talking about their superiors, but the latter is attacked by Torso. Furuta and Arima are in a meeting with V. Takatsuki gives a final speech revealing to be a ghoul and to have written Byleyg the King for all her "brothers". In the GCC, there is debate about the book by Takatsuki, Byleyg the King and about the release of its author. Ayumu informs the CCG of the losses of her squad. At The Chateau, the Quinxes have a meeting and promise not to forget the death of their ex-leader. Torso and Mutsuki are then shown. Takatsuki is sent to Cochlea where she is interrogated. Matasaka is remembering her past when she is interrupted by Arima. Matasaka and Squad 0 have a battle, which ends with the death of Matasaka at the hands of Arima. In a gym, the Quinx trains, when Kaneki requests to speak to Urie. Banjou is reading Byleyg the King, Ayato appears and asks him to help him free Hinami. Kaneki talks to Urie about Takatsuki's confession. In Corniculum, Furuta interrogates Takatsuki, and Fuuta has a chat with Takatsuki where they exchange information. Later, Furuta has a memory that is interrupted by Kaneki who also enters to interrogate Takatsuki. On Ru Island as well as on GCC, Island attack squads prepare. Ayato, Touka and Yomo have a fight with Arima, in which Yomo remembers his sister and then continue with the fight. While Yomo is remembering his past, Arata gives him the news of his sister's murder. Then he remembers when he asked Yoshimura to let his nephews work in Anteiku. Yomo loses control and attacks Arima, but is saved by Kaneki who blocks an Arima attack with his kagune. Banjou is looking for an exit from Cochlea. Kaneki prepares to face Arima, slowing him down and allowing his friends to escape. Touka, Ayato and Hinami prepare to escape through the site's waste compressor. Tooru remembers her past and then wakes up in her captor's hiding place, where she finds a chair with her torso. Urie later finds Saeki's torso and wonders where Tooru is. Hanbee, who was fighting with Kurona, is saved by Juuzou, who is accompanied by Mizurou, Mikage, and Keijin. During the battle, Kurona shows her abdomen revealing that Nashiro is inside her. Kurona explains her purpose on the Island. Later, the Suzuya Squad prepares to attack, but their leader is wounded in the chest and his quinque is destroyed. In Cochlea, Arima continues to fight Kaneki, and in a desperate attack, Kaneki breaks his opponent's quinque. Furuta manages to beat Eto and then reveals to be a Kanou experiment. Arima attacks Kaneki one last time, and realizing that she won't be able to win, she surrenders. Ken Kaneki, Kaneki reproaches her father's actions, yelling at her, however, Arima insists on hearing what she is about to reveal. Students from White Sun Garden, Hairu Ihei, Nimura Furuta, and Arima have ghoul parents and are failed hybrids, half-human. Arima glaucoma, which is a common degenerative disease in the elderly, is the result of him being mit ad human. He discovered that certain people like Arima, members of the Garden Squad 0, Ching-Li Hsiao, and members of the Washuu clan do not trigger the Rc scouting gate alarms. Marude concludes that the Washuu are ghouls and shoots Yoshitoki. Several investigators, including Matsuri Washuu, react to the shooting. Yoshitoki gets up again as he reveals his kakugan, disappointed with Marude. Marude remembers meeting Yoshitoki, thinking that it was all a lie, and that Hideyoshi Nagachika was right. Kaneki discovers that the ghouls V worked for belonged to the Washuu Clan. Confused, Kaneki asks Arima what he wants from him. Arima asks Kaneki to declare himself as Arima's assassin to the ghouls, telling Kaneki that he will soon understand what Arima wants. Kaneki understands, so he thanks her. Arima says she has always hated others and is glad that she can leave something behind. Arima retires to have a better life. Kaneki cries while holding Arima's corpse. Leaving Cochlea, Touka Kirishima tells the group to stop as they are confronted by investigators Kiyoko Aura and Mougan Tanakamaru. Mougan uses Higher Mind to shoot at the group of ghouls. Not realizing the monitoring of the quinque, Ayato is hit by missiles and wounded. Mougan and Kiyoko prepare to finish him off, but as they are about to do so, both shots are blocked by the eruption of Touka's kagune. Making his way towards Ken Kaneki, Take Hirako tells Squad 0 to stop. Shinme Haisaki looks at the monitors and loses his composure from what happened in Cochlea, not realizing that Donato Porpora's cell had been opened, Donato rips off the guard's head and throws it aside. The members of the Arima Squad, who are children, ask Hirako to say goodbye to Arima. Hirako declares that the children of the White Sun Garden idolize Arima and that he is only a subordinate. Hirako mentions that Arima has ordered Squad 0 to help Kaneki escape. Matsuri Washuu contacts Kuki Urie to inform him of the situation on the ship. Then, Hirako presents his resignation letter. Suzuya Squad cuts off Kurona's arms, then Juuzou appears with his Arata Joke r. Kurona, when attacked repeatedly, flees. The Squad decides to go with Houji. Seidou as she grabs Akira's neck, asks her what she wants. Tatara greets Houji, revealing her Kakuja and launching a flurry of fire at the GCC troops, scorching many soldiers. Akira, trying to maintain his defense, uses his quinque to block the explosion. Houji uses her Iitsuu quinque and attacks Tatara, who counters her attacks. Houji orders Akira to give him his quinque Chi She to attack Tatara. Tatara staggers, and just as Tatara is about to finish off Houji, Takizawa steps in, saving Houji. Takizawa confronts Tatara in search of revenge. Yumitsu interferes and treats him as a traitor, but Takizawa manages to hurt her and then go after Tatara who ends up perishing remembering her "King". Houji orders to exterminate the "Owl", an act that infuriates Takizawa and ends up killing all the investigators, leaving Akira as his last victim. When Takizawa was about to finish Akira, Amon interfered by cutting off his arm. Seidou remembers when he was caught and put in confinement by Akihiro. Nishiki and Kurona face off against Roma and Shikorae, who later runs away. Amon confronts Hsiao and Urie, and his body is ripped apart by the combined attacks of both opponents. The Quinx Squad believes they managed to kill Floppy, Koutarou Amon, but instead, the one-eyed ghoul puts on his kakuja form. Their grotesque appearance scares them before Amon attacks and injures Kuki Urie and Ching-Li Hsiao, prompting Touma Higemaru to take action alongside Shinsanpei Aura, who still needed time to heal. Higemaru decides to buy time and asks Saiko Yonebayashi to act as a substitute and releases her third frame before taking the offensive against Amon. However, after Tooru Mutsuki attacked as well, Higemaru was smashed into a wall. After Mutsuki was also injured, Urie joins the fray, exchanging blows with Amon, receiving a powerful blow to his side, causing Saiko to use her kagune to defend him. Reflecting his past situation with Ken Kaneki, only himself as the ghoul, Amon shares some of his own wisdom with Saiko before crushing him with his kagune. Matsuri Washuu informs the rest of the CCG investigators of the results after the conclusion of Operation Rushima Landing, including the announcement of the death of Kishou Arima, the violation of Cochlea, and the person responsible for both, Kaneki. Matsuri continues to inform investigators of the death of Yoshitoki Washuu by a ghoul and the apparent suicide of Itsuki Marude.
